Recruiting Is Now a Contact Sport
This session focuses on why candidates are so very scarce and difficult to find. The best practices of contact based recruiting are presented in an actionable and logical manner. Participants will gain:
- An understanding why talent seems scarce but unemployment is so high
- Insights about what tools are failing and why
- A Step-by-Step process of contact intensive recruiting
- Techniques that get you past the door and into contact with those we must recruit

Doug, understand comment about phone. I do the phone work. I was programming in the 70’s. IT people (esp. Gen-X and Gen-Y) tend not to answer phone. they don’t even respond to email. many companies block getting to IT staff (esp. if they’re contractors). what are you doing about this. Yes, backdoored through Accounts Payable, AR, shop floor, security, etc. soliciting their help to find “guy that does programming, etc.” and that’s becoming less productive.
Thank you for the valuable information – however what do we do if we are not allowed direct access to the “decision maker” – and only have HR officers to rely on (who can be very “limiting” with information about the position, promotions, projects etc.
Could I have the link to Doug’s Website please?
Doug, that was terrific! Reminds me of the same principles I learned from Bill Radin. You are both highly successful, I can tell! Thanks for sharing and encouraging me to be a messenger of opportunity!
what is the best kind of voice mail to leave someone that is a passive candidate?
